I need, want and love you.

I need you like a locked door needs a key
I want you like a tourist wants the sea
I love you like a bird loves to fly free
So it can go round the world and feel the air
Like a perfectionist loves to be prepare
I need you like a car needs a driver
I want you like the wild wants a survivor
I love you like a chef loves a nice flavour
So that his meal comes extra tasty
Like someone who loves to be hasty
I need you like your feet need shoes
I want you like a journalist wants news
I love you like bullies loves to abuse
So they can have their fun time
Like monkeys love to climb
I need, want and love you.

I need you like a book needs a cover
I want you like lovers want to be together forever
I love you like sorry loves a forgiver
So the guilt can go away; life is back to happiness
Like we love summer to stay
I need you like a treasure needs to be hidden
I want you like a gardener wants a garden
I love you like a criminal loves to be pardoned
So that he can be full of life
Like a man loves his wife
I need you like the night sky needs stars
I want you like nature wants bears
I love you like my cheeks love tears
So they can go red from the pain you cause
Like society loves laws
I need, want and love you.

I need you like my heart needs you to survive
I want you like the world wants to stay alive
I love you like the bees love their hive
So that they can store their honey
Like banks love keeping money
I need you like stress needs peace
I want you like a lost person wants to go home
I love you like an animal loves to roam
So that they can run wild
Like a mother who loves their child
I need you like a rainbow needs a golden pot
I want you like a writer wants a plot
I love you like a plane loves a pilot
So it can take off to the right destination
Like an artist who loves their creation
I need, want and love you.

  1. Firstly, a massive well done for crafting your own, original structure here. It is very effective, and clever too. :)

And you have filled your poem with tons of excellent similes, some of which particularly stand out:
"I love you like my cheeks love tears...So they can go red from the pain you cause" This is brilliant, largely because, like all best writing, it manages to be both accessible but also dark and deep. I also love "like stress needs peace" (just be careful about your rhyme scheme here).

All in all, then, this is really very good indeed, and it is amazing how already you seem like you have been on the Workshop for ages! :)
