I really thought you were the one,
One glance and I was yours.
My friends and family did not approve,
And still I fought your wars.

    Excellent (apart from Line 3 which does not fit iambically and has two too many syllables).

    Other than that, it would have been EVEN better with more ambitious and creative use of imagery...

    Still really good though! :)
