I Love/Miss/Need/Love You!

I hate you like Damien hated Church
I hate you like new clothes hates a smirch
I hate you like a slacker hates research
Because they’re a lazy Sod
Who responds with an unsure nod.
I hate you like Hippies’ hate war
I hate you like Bailiffs hate a door
I hate you like Mercutio Je’deste amour
Even though he was there for his mate
But the conclusion was the work of fate
I hate you like flowers hate the winter
I hate you like a finger hates a splinter
I hate you like the type writer hates the printer
For taking away his work!
The Printer Looks back with an evil smirk.

HOWEVER…
I love you like Branson loves success
I love you like Mr Muscle loves a mess
I love you like a Geek loves chess
To show off his inhuman skills
God knows, he’s probably popping pills
I love you like Michael just LOVESS kids
I love you like Race cars love skids
I love you like Ebay loves Bids
So it can remain rich
And not in a cyber ditch
I love you like Shakespeare loved to write
I love you like the stars love the night
I love you like the breeze loves the kite
So it can Waltz in the air
Without any care

I need you like sound needs vibration
I need you like a Buddhist needs relaxation
I need you like a patriarch loves his nation
And who is overwhelmed with pride
And will gladly provide
I need you like a baby needs its sleep
I need you like a mourner needs to weep
I need you like a Sheppard needs his sheep
He keep his life afloat
Like a bright red blow up boat
I need you like a priest needs his prayer
I need you like Repunzel needed her hair
I need you like a patient needs care
To help them on their way
To live another day

I miss you like the desert misses the rain
I miss you like an alcoholic misses Champagne
I miss you like a Rehab patient misses Cocaine
The only thing he only needs
To help him through his grieves
I miss you like the Dr misses Rose
I miss you like the homeless miss warm clothes
I miss you like Liza misses her shows
For now she’s long gone
But a voice in a song
I miss you like Beethoven missed sweet sound
I miss you like a child misses the fairground
I miss you like Satan misses the Hell-hound
For evil is unleashed
And is a vicious beast

  2. My response to this is mixed. (Don't worry though - and read on...)

I am not sure about each of the couplets following each trimeter (i.e. Lines 4/5, 9/10 etc.) - largely because the rhymes often feel a little forced, and the effect on the reader, therefore, weakened. Have a look at them and see if you see what I mean.

But as for the trimeters (and I mean every SINGLE one), they are witty, complex, dark/funny (at the same time), original and immensely impressive. You have an expert knack at finding a fresh and new way of expressing yourself, and your trimeters are not only completely cliche-free, but they flow naturally too in their rhythm and their rhyme. My favourites? Too many to mention, to be honest. But if I must, probably:
    "like Bailiffs hate a door"
"like the breeze loves the kite"
    "like Rapunzel needed her hair"
Oh, and "like Michael just LOVES kids"
Fantastic stuff - and SO much of it.

If any don't work quite as well, I think the Mercutio one doesn't quite work; and I am clearly too ignorant to understand the ones about Rose and Liza. Enlighten me?

Well done, chex - this is an epic effort, with a great deal of success. Well done! :)
