ReplyDeleteYou have managed to fill it with some highly original metaphors, and you have managed to stick pretty closely to the rhythm of the original poem too. Well done!
I particularly like: "Friendship is the tears flowing down your cheeks when you cry" (although the rhythm would have been even stronger if you got rid of the word 'flowing'); "Friendship is the way through a complicated maze" is also excellent.
The only thing that confuses me is your line about the "cold, grey knife": are you saying friendship can sometimes be dangerous?
